Banana Rollers To-Go
This gem of an idea has been around, but is new to us, and we're certainly glad to have found it! A sure-fire hit with kids, Banana Rollers are an easy activity for your budding chefs, and a healthy snack you can enjoy on-the-go. They may end up a little messy toward the last bites, but my three-year-old makes a bigger mess with a plain banana in her hand.
Peanut butter, almond butter or Nutella make an excellent "glue" to keep your wraps closed. Substitute for anything you have on hand, it's hard to go wrong! Add chocolate chips, cream cheese or honey if you're not worried about mess. These can be made in the morning, sliced in half and stored in a cooler for a snack later in the day.
- 1 Banana per Roller
- 1 Small Wheat or White Tortilla
- 1 to 2 Tablespoons of Nut Butter
- Cinnamon and Sugar Sprinkle
Laying out a tortilla, spread an even coat of your toppings of choice and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Often I find a thinner coat is just as effective and less messy. Peel your banana and roll in the tortilla snugly starting at one side and rolling toward the other until it is sealed shut. (Add a bit of nut butter near the edge to keep it closed.) Cut in half or eat as it is!
