The Quimby Barn became the home of the Sandwich Historical Society Transportation Museum in 1991. Our Concord coach, a nine passenger, city-style, wooden boot, mail coach owned by the Town of Sandwich, was built in 1850 for the Senter House in Center Harbor. Our mail wagon was driven by the rural mail carriers in Sandwich. Also on display are a Boston Chaise, a Concord Express Wagon made by the Abbott and Downing Company in Concord, and a Summer Hearse used for many years in the Sandwich area for burials.
