Join us for monthly stargazing nights at the H.A. Rey Observatory at the Curious George Cottage to observe the stars just like H.A. Rey used to do. Telescopes will be set-up and knowledgeable volunteers from the New Hampshire Astronomical Society will be your guide. "The Stars" and "Find the Constellations"
Waterville Valley’s dark night sky inspired the Reys, the creators of the Curious George book series, to make their summer home here after their initial visit to our beautiful neck of the woods back in the 1950s. Rey Center astronomy programs continue Hans Rey's legacy of sharing his love of the nighttime sky with residents and visitors alike. Dark sky observing nights at the Curious George Cottage, night time constellation snowshoes and hikes around the Valley, and hands-on astronomy education for families are just a few of the ways the Rey Center keeps us looking toward the stars. Visit our Program Schedule for details about upcoming astronomy programs.
Dark Sky Stargazing Nights are generously sponsored by the Snowy Owl Inn of Waterville Valley.
