NH Kidventures Highlighted Location: Clark House Museum
Annual “Airing of the Quilts”
September 4 (Thurs. 12-4pm)
In this event, we recreate a job that was traditionally done each fall by ladies in their homes. In preparation for winter, the quilts would be laid out on the ground or hung on the clothesline to take in the “air” before their long winter use. Visitors to this event get to ”travel” through our collection that is displayed in the yard in front of the school, as tales about them are shared by Louise Horsken and other costumed guides. Other quilts are displayed inside the house, as the house tour is also part of this day.
Bring your quilting friends to share this wonderful collection! You are also encouraged to bring your own quilts to display and tell us about!
